Who We Are
Alpine Tree Service is a high-growth, full-service tree care company serving residential and commercial clients across New Jersey. We operate with a focus on safety, professionalism, and execution — following ANSI standards and delivering a premium customer experience. We are building a team of professionals, not just workers.
The Role
The Yard Manager keeps Alpine's yard, fleet, and supply chain running clean. You'll manage equipment inventory, coordinate end-of-day operations with field crews, handle municipal tree removal permits, and ensure the yard is set up for the next day's work.
This role is a great entry point into the tree care industry. The path forward from here is wide open — past Yard Managers have moved into sales, field operations, plant health care, and production management.
What You'll Do
As Alpine's Yard Manager, you'll be responsible for:
Managing and controlling inventory of supplies and equipment
Keeping the yard and fleet vehicles clean and organized
Checking crews out at the end of the day and providing detailed end-of-day reports to management
Picking up tools and supplies with guidance from the Fleet Mechanic
Completing municipal permits for tree removals with guidance from Sales Arborists
How We Operate
The Yard Manager role keeps Alpine's whole operation running. Here's what that looks like in practice:
Actively Seek Knowledge: You learn the equipment, the systems, and the workflows fast. The Yard Manager who understands how the field crews work is the one who can support them best — and grow fastest into other roles at Alpine.
Think Ahead to Solve Problems: You anticipate what the crews will need tomorrow before they ask. You spot equipment issues before they break down on a job site. You catch supply gaps before they hold up a crew.
Be Adaptable: Schedule shifts seasonally. Last-minute changes happen constantly. You stay organized and adjust without dropping the ball on what's already in motion.
Loyalty to the Team: What you do in the yard affects every job Alpine runs. Field crews depend on you to set them up to succeed. You communicate clearly with crews, mechanics, sales, and management.
Have the Motivation to Be the Best: Organization, accuracy, and pride in a tight yard are what make this role matter. The best Yard Managers turn what could be a routine job into a real operational backbone.
